1. What's Tungsten Heavy Alloy Rod?
Tungsten heavy alloy rod, also known as tungsten alloy rod, is a tungsten-based heavy alloy rod manufactured through powder metallurgy, using tungsten as the primary phase and adding nickel (Ni), iron (Fe), or copper (Cu) as binder phase elements. With tungsten content typically ranging from 90%–97%, it achieves high density, high strength, and good machinability. Its density can reach 17.0–18.8 g/cm³, providing a high mass-to-volume ratio and stable physical properties. The alloy provides improved toughness compared with pure tungsten materials and can be precision machined through turning, grinding, and other processes for complex structural components.
(5) Excellent Radiation Shielding Capability
The alloy utilizes tungsten’s high atomic number (74) and high density to provide effective absorption of X-rays and gamma rays.
