Magnetic Tungsten Alloy Rod

Magnetic Tungsten Alloy Rod Picture

1. What's Magnetic Tungsten Alloy Rod?
Magnetic tungsten alloy rod generally refers to W-Ni-Fe tungsten alloy rod with magnetic response characteristics. Due to the addition of iron (Fe), W-Ni-Fe tungsten alloy rod provides certain magnetic properties and is suitable for applications requiring magnetic response. CTIA’s tungsten alloy rod uses tungsten (W) as the matrix phase, typically containing 90%–97% tungsten, with nickel (Ni) and iron (Fe) as binder phases. Manufactured through powder metallurgy processes, it features high density, high strength, good toughness, and good machinability for applications including aerospace counterweights, precision instruments, medical shielding, and high-density functional components.

2. Characteristics of CTIA’s Magnetic Tungsten Alloy Rod
(1) High Density and Controllable Magnetic Properties
Density ranges from 16.5–18.5 g/cm³, which is more than 1.5–1.7 times that of lead. Ferromagnetic response can be adjusted through composition control, making the alloy suitable for applications requiring magnetic field response.
(2) High Strength and Excellent Mechanical Properties
Tensile strength can reach 700–1400 MPa, with high yield strength, hardness of HRC 26–40, and excellent impact resistance and fatigue resistance.
(3) Good Machinability and Thermal Performance
The alloy supports turning, milling, drilling, and grinding processes, while low thermal expansion coefficient and good thermal conductivity help maintain dimensional stability under high-temperature conditions.
(4) Strong Radiation Shielding Capability and Environmental Compatibility
High absorption capability for X-rays and gamma rays provides better shielding performance than lead at the same thickness. The alloy is non-toxic and pollution-free and complies with standards such as RoHS.
(5) High Consistency and Corrosion Resistance
Stable batch performance, good resistance to acid, alkali, and oxidation corrosion, and long-term magnetic property stability ensure reliable service performance.

3. Applications of CTIA’s Magnetic Tungsten Alloy Rod
(1) Precision Instruments
Used for magnetometer calibration rods, instrument counterweight rods, inertial measurement components, and balance shafts to meet requirements for high density and stable mass.
(2) Aerospace
Used for gyroscope rotor shafts, inertial counterweight rods, attitude control counterweights, and precision balancing components to improve equipment operating stability.
(3) Magnetic Testing
Used for magnetic field testing standards, magnetic property calibration components, and functional rods in testing equipment to provide stable magnetic response.
(4) Electronic Equipment
Used for high-density adjustment components, magnetic functional components, and precision structural parts in electromagnetic devices to meet special magnetic environment requirements.
(5) Scientific Research and Special Equipment
Used for magnetic sample rods, special counterweights, and high specific gravity functional components in experimental equipment requiring high density and magnetic properties.
