Customized Tungsten Alloy Rod

Customized Tungsten Alloy Rod Picture

1. What's Customized Tungsten Alloy Rod?
Customized tungsten alloy rod is tungsten-based alloy rod customized and manufactured by CTIA according to customer requirements for material properties, dimensions, and application conditions. It is based on tungsten (W) and typically contains nickel (Ni), iron (Fe), or copper (Cu) as binder phase elements to form tungsten-nickel-iron (W-Ni-Fe) and tungsten-nickel-copper (W-Ni-Cu) alloy systems, with tungsten content typically ranging from 90%–97%. CTIA’s tungsten alloy rod features high specific gravity, high strength, and good machinability, making it suitable for counterweights, radiation shielding components, vibration damping components, and precision structural parts.

2. Characteristics of CTIA’s Customized Tungsten Alloy Rod
(1) Selectable Material Properties
Different alloy systems, including W-Ni-Fe and W-Ni-Cu, are available to meet requirements for magnetism, strength, and different operating environments.
(2) High Density and High Strength
Density of 17.0–18.8 g/cm³, close to pure tungsten (19.25 g/cm³), is provided, with tensile strength typically ranging from 700–1000 MPa to meet high-load and wear-resistant application requirements.
(3) Controllable Dimensional Accuracy
Different diameters, lengths, and structural dimensions can be customized, while precision machining is applied to meet assembly requirements for complex components.
(4) Good Machinability
Improved toughness is achieved compared with pure tungsten materials through the addition of nickel-iron or nickel-copper binder phases, allowing machining processes such as turning, milling, and grinding.
(5) Stable Physical Properties
Coefficient of thermal expansion of approximately 5.0–6.5×10⁻⁶/K is provided, ensuring good dimensional stability. Excellent radiation absorption capability is also achieved, making it suitable for radiation shielding applications.
