Chemical Composition of Tungsten Alloy Rod

Chemical composition of CTIA’s tungsten alloy rod mainly consists of tungsten (W) and alloying elements such as nickel (Ni), iron (Fe), copper (Cu), and molybdenum (Mo). Tungsten serves as the primary component, providing high density and excellent overall properties, while nickel, iron, and copper act as binder phases to improve toughness, strength, and machinability. According to different alloy systems, tungsten alloy rods are mainly classified into W-Ni-Fe, W-Ni-Cu, and W-Ni-Fe-Mo series.
1. Main Elements of CTIA’s Tungsten Alloy Rod
(1) Tungsten (W): Main component with a content of 90%–97%, providing high density, high specific gravity, and mechanical strength.
(2) Nickel (Ni): Binder element that improves particle bonding, toughness, and machinability.
(3) Iron (Fe): Strengthening element in W-Ni-Fe alloys, improving strength and mechanical properties.
(4) Copper (Cu): Binder element in W-Ni-Cu alloys, enhancing electrical and thermal conductivity.
(5) Molybdenum (Mo): Strengthening element in W-Ni-Fe-Mo alloys, improving high-temperature performance and stability.
2. Chemical Composition of CTIA’s Tungsten Alloy Rod
Different grades of tungsten alloy rods achieve variations in density, strength, magnetic properties, and high-temperature performance by adjusting tungsten content and binder phase ratios. The common grades and typical chemical compositions of CTIA’s tungsten alloy rods are shown in the picture below:
